Why Liberty Walk

Cut the fenders. Keep the car.

Liberty Walk’s LB-Works kit is the one that made the R35 famous in widebody form: exposed rivets, a flat front splitter and canards, flares that sit over wheels most people think are too wide. It is also a kit that punishes rushed fitment. The fenders are cut, the flares are drilled through the body, and every decision after that is permanent.

So the car is being built the way the Z was: wheels and offsets worked out before anything is ordered, flares mocked up and measured, cut lines marked three times, titanium hardware so the rivets never bleed rust. When it rolls into Las Vegas in November it will be the first Liberty Walk GT-R built in Manitoba, and it will drive home afterwards.

Updates are posted here and on @anthonydg_.

How the fitment work is done

The articles below explain the method on the Z, which is the method on the GT-R: widebody fitment, air versus coilovers, wheel specs and why the hardware is titanium.
