Subaru maintenance and repairs
Older EJ25 boxer engines are known for head gasket leaks, so external oil or coolant seepage is worth catching early. Many newer Subarus use a CVT that needs the correct fluid care. Wheel bearings, CV axles and brakes also see plenty of work in Manitoba conditions. We diagnose the cause before quoting.
Why your Subaru tires must match
Symmetrical all-wheel drive is sensitive to differences in tire diameter. Mixing brands or tread depths can strain the drivetrain over time. When replacing tires, keep all four matched, and check your owner’s manual for the maximum allowable difference. We check tire condition at every visit.
WRX and STI performance
The WRX and STI respond well to tuning, but the engines reward caution: a healthy engine, a conservative and properly logged calibration, and the right fuel matter. We plan power, fuelling and cooling together, and inspect used WRXs and STIs before you buy.

Why do all four tires need to match on a Subaru?
The all-wheel-drive system works best when all four tires roll at the same diameter. Mismatched tires can make the drivetrain work constantly to compensate, which can cause wear.
Are WRX engines reliable when tuned?
They can be, with a healthy engine, a conservative calibration that is properly logged, good fuel and sensible driving. Aggressive tunes on worn engines are where problems start.
What should I check on a used Subaru?
Look for head gasket seepage on older engines, CVT behaviour on newer ones, rust, and evidence of modifications. A pre-purchase inspection covers these on the lift.
