Chevrolet & GMC Service & Performance
From Silverados and Sierras to Corvettes and classic Chevelles, Garage 46 works on GM vehicles old and new.
Serving North Kildonan, East Kildonan, Transcona, East St. Paul and the rest of Winnipeg.
Silverado, Sierra and SUV repair
GM’s 5.3 and 6.2 V8s with Active or Dynamic Fuel Management are known for lifter failures that can cause ticking, misfires and in some cases camshaft damage. Early diagnosis matters. We also handle the brakes, suspension and rust repairs that GM trucks and SUVs need after Manitoba winters.
Corvette and Camaro performance
Mid-engine C8 Corvettes, front-engine Corvettes and Camaros are welcome in our bay. Calibration, exhaust, forced induction, brakes and suspension can be planned as a complete package, so the car is faster and still drives well.
Classic Chevrolets
Classic Chevys, from Chevelles to Camaros, have a special place in the shop. We maintain, repair and modernise them carefully, whether that means brakes and suspension that work, sorting an old carburettor or planning a modern engine swap.
Before you book
Chevrolet & GMC Service & Performance questions.
What is the AFM/DFM lifter problem on GM V8s?
Engines with Active or Dynamic Fuel Management deactivate cylinders to save fuel using special lifters. Some of those lifters fail, causing ticking, misfires and potentially camshaft damage. Early diagnosis limits the repair cost.
Do you work on classic Chevrolets?
Yes. Classic cars, including Chevelles, are regulars in our bay. We maintain, repair and modernise them while respecting the car.
Can you work on the C8 Corvette?
Yes. Mid-engine Corvettes are welcome for maintenance, brakes, and performance upgrades.
