BMW repairs we see most often

Oil leaks are the classic BMW complaint, often traced to the valve cover gasket or the oil filter housing gasket. Left alone, a filter housing leak can drip onto belts and hot exhaust parts. Cooling systems are the other big one: water pumps, thermostats, expansion tanks and plastic fittings age, and Manitoba’s cold starts and hot summers do them no favours. We diagnose the actual source before quoting, rather than replacing parts on a guess.

Tuning and upgrades for BMW engines

Turbocharged BMW engines such as the N55, B58 and S58 respond strongly to a calibration because boost is controlled in software. The right package depends on what else has changed: intake, downpipe, intercooler and fuel all affect the tune. We plan the supporting work alongside the power, including brakes, cooling and tires, so the car stays reliable as well as quick.

Buying a used BMW in Manitoba

A used BMW can be excellent value or an expensive lesson. Before you buy, have it inspected for leaks, cooling-system condition, suspension wear, stored fault codes and rust, and check whether its maintenance matches the condition-based service history. If you have not found the right car yet, our sourcing service can look for one and inspect it before you commit.

BMW Service & Repair questions.

Why is my BMW leaking oil?

The most common sources are the valve cover gasket and the oil filter housing gasket, but oil pan gaskets and other seals can leak too. Because oil can travel before it drips, the source should be confirmed on the lift before parts are ordered.

Is a tuned BMW reliable?

It can be, when the tune matches the hardware and the car is healthy to begin with. We check the condition first and plan supporting upgrades for the power level, rather than adding boost to a car with existing problems.

What should I check before buying a used BMW?

Look for oil and coolant leaks, verify the service history, scan for stored codes and inspect the suspension and underbody. A pre-purchase inspection covers these and gives you a list of upcoming costs to negotiate with.
